UFC 162 Results: Chris Weidman Ends Anderson Silva's Reign

COMMENTARY | UFC 162 lived up to the hype, as ChrisWeidman backed up his talk inside the Octagon, ending the 7-year reign of Anderson Silva
Here are the results of the UFC 162 fight card held on July 6, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev:
Chris Weidman celebrates after defeating Anderson Silva.
Chris Weidman def. Anderson Silva
Chris got off to a good start against Silva, putting the Brazilian on his back early in their UFC 162 encounter. Silva eventually fought his way back to his feet, dominating the remainder of the first round standing, keeping his hands down, repeatedly taunting Weidman.
Silva continued to dominate the striking exchanges in the second round, but Weidman eventually made him pay for clowning around, catching "The Spider" with a left hook that knocked him out cold, bringing his historic 10 consecutive successful title defense record to an end.
I never thought I'd say this in a million years, but Chris Weidman is now the UFC's middleweight champion, and he'll go down in MMA history books as the man who ended the great Anderson Silva's reign.
Frankie Edgar def. Charles Oliveira
Both men came out swinging at UFC 162, with Edgar getting the better of the exchanges. Frankie was also able to take Oliveira down at will, but the Brazilian refused to go down without a fight.
Oliveira landed his share of hard shots during their three-rounder, and he came close to submitting Edgar with a guillotine choke at the end of the second. Fortunately for Edgar, he was saved the bell, and he went on to dominate the rest of their entertaining fight.
If you missed this bout, you definitely want to catch a replay.
Tim Kennedy def. Roger Gracie
Gracie got off to a good start against Kennedy, scoring his first takedown early in their UFC 162 bout. However, Tim managed to turn things around during the second round, controlling Gracie with hiswrestling while landing some hard shots on the ground. He kept it up during the final round, grinding Gracie down until the final bell.
The judges scored the fight 30-27, 29-28, and 30-37, Kennedy.
Mark Munoz def. Tim Boetsch
Munoz looked like a new man at UFC 162, dominating Boetsch with his superior wrestling, landing numerous hard shots on the ground. To his credit, Boetsch showed a lot of heart, threatening with a few submissions during the final round, but he wasn't able to get much done against "The Filipino Wrecking Machine."
The judges scored the fight 30-26, 30-27, and 29-28, all in favor of Munoz.
Cub Swanson def. Dennis Siver
Siver mixed things up at UFC 162, putting Swanson on his back early in the first round. He kept Cub grounded for the majority of the round, displaying solid top control.
Both men traded shots during the second round, with Swanson getting the better of the exchanges. Swanson closed the round out well, dropping Siver during the final minute, quickly transitioning to mount.
Cub continued to dominate the striking exchanges during the third round, eventually dropping Siver with a right cross followed by some vicious ground-n-pound which forced referee Herb Dean to stop the contest at 2:24 of the final round.
Undercard:
Andrew Craig def. Chris Leben (split decision)
Norman Parke def. Kazuki Tokudome (unanimous decision)
Gabriel Gonzaga def. Dave Herman (KO, round one)
Edson Barboza def. Rafaello Oliveira (TKO, round two)
